Remembering Milenyo

I read Erwin's article on how bloggers rode out the storm. I, too, saw and felt the fury of Milenyo. We were at the UP-ITTC for an FOSS/PCLinux Seminar when we felt the full fury of Milenyo. However, true to our IT calling, we did not mind the 130 kph winds and 160 kph gust. We did our best to absorb what PCLinux and its applications had to offer. Like the storm we ravaged through the course sans electricity. We went back to the old whiteboard talk (chalk-talk to others) trying to visualize what icons to click when we wanted something launched from the application.

As I said, we did our best to learn but the howling wind and the torrential rain was too great a distraction to most of the participants. Some were amazed at the raw power of Milenyo while others shook in fear. At 3:00 pm we unlocked the chained doors of UP-ITTC and walked towards our waiting bus-admiring the new landscape. Too bad we were too busy looking at the tipped over poles, uprooted trees, blown-down billboards and the newly leaf-carpeted roads to take photos.

As they said, we were affected by the Milenyo Bug.
