The Blog Bug

For the longest time - like New Year's resolutions- I promised to update my blog. That thought started April 2005, its November 2006.

But strange things happen and like writings on the wall the call to blog is strong. Doubly so because my significant half started blogging a few days ago and has decided that its something she has got to do. In fact, she has a few articles in mind. She calls it Intuitions. Females do have a knack for this.

Now, back to the bug of blogging. While browsing the broadsheets this morning I came upon Pinoy Penman who has finished one year of blogging.

I love what the Pinoy Penman said about why he eventually joined the world of blogging :

"I’d resisted blogging for the longest time, thinking (correctly, as it turned out in my case) that it was something of an exercise in self-indulgence. But the attraction proved too strong—here, after all, was a digital soapbox for practically free, from where I could inflict my views about and on the universe with a few clicks of the mouse."

I saw the potential of blogging in 2002 - when I came across the word while doing research for my graduate studies. Then there's citizen journalism. Blogging has made waves around the world. We have read bloggers from behind the Bamboo Curtain. We have first-hand accounts from combatants fighting the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and other wars around the globe. Even if they were rants, raves, heartaches and pontifications the power of blogging is evident.

Now, my task is to look for nut grafs...wish me luck.
