We have a standing joke, JB and I. Whenever we meet anywhere in the office we almost always utter "basol mo! (it's your fault!). You see, it was JB (the guy in white) who convinced me to work for government. I was teaching at a local college when he asked me to forward my resume for a position as a writer for a poverty alleviation program. In short, I did. From there on it was all uphill - career wise.
Now to enumerate his many faults!
Yes, it is JB's fault that I am now a middle manager for a government organization;
Yes, it is JB's fault that I got to tour the beautiful places of the Cordilleras;
Yes, it was his fault, that I was able to be trained in Social Marketing, advocacy, media relations and social welfare;
Yes, it's JB's fault, that I was able to develop a wide network of people in the private and public sector,
Yes, it's his fault again, that I am always updated in gadgets, gizmos, gears and if lucky gossips;
Yes, its his fault that that our office won top honors in many presentations - both at the local and the national scenes;
Yes, it's his faul that my work is a little bit easier because he's very efficient in what he does;
Yes, its his fault why he's a good friend of mine...
Actually, there's a mile-long list in mind about his many "sins". I have yet to "confront" him about it. But the bottom line is - this guy does not dispappoint!
It's his fault why I consider him to be a very good friend - we've been at it since 1987.
Unlike the Puffer Fish in the photo JB is very modest in his accomplishments. And believe me, he has a lot of them!
Yes, it's his fault, entirely and I thank him for that!
