SEX and Goverment

We know that sex sells. I don't know if I should applaud the effort or throw tomatoes at this idea - Government must practice SEX.  It sounds cute enough but I can't really picture government, energy conservation, leading by example and sex in the same light.

When I was a civil servant (two years ago) our agency did practice energy saving measures.  My performance rating was tied to lowering electric consumption.  Doing otherwise will cost us not only in the consumption but also in the performance evaluation.

However, I think the homes along the "riles" knew about saving energy years before.  They were saving energy by turning in early and having you know what. What else can they do- no TV, no radio, no illumination?  In most cases, when the train rumbles through at 4:00 am thus waking up the neighborhood the alternative to turning on the lights is to "turn on" someone else.  Then there goes the neighborhood.

So, will government heed the department's call to have SEX?
