Your side and God's side
John 3:16 is the most popular verse in the Bible, we grew up memorizing this and may have seen it as graffiti in some places. But as a Christian have you ever taken into consideration that this verse spells out how to start a relationship with Jesus?
Human relationships are often based on expectations. These expectations are the starting point towards deepening the relationship.
Let's take a look at expectations in John 3:16.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
What is expected of God?
1. His love for the world is so great.
2. To have His Son Jesus Christ pay our debt.
3. To give everlasting life.
What is expected of us?
1. Just BELIEVE.
Simple enough, isn't it?

"Just believe"?
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to repent of sins (Acts 2:28), confess Christ with the mouth (Matt 10:32) and be baptized for the remission of sins (Mark 16:16)? What happened to "faithful unto death" (Rev 2:10)?
What do you do with James chapter 2, bro? More is expected from us than to simply believe! If this were the case, we will surely enjoy the heavenly company of every demon.
I hope this was a mistype and not an accurate summation of your true belief.
In Love,
Mike Hildreth
Well said bro. Mike. I still hold true to the Faith. Don't you worry. This is not the summation of my belief. This was part of a series of short notes, this was just but a part. Nonetheless, I appreciate your concern.
