Pinoy made famous by American Idol
Did you cringe in shame or well up with pride when you saw Renald Lapuz deliver his now famous We're Brothers Forever?
Before facing the panel of the show Renald was asked why he auditioned for American Idol. He said that if he became an American idol he will be seen by the desperate as hope and the weak as strength. And he would welcome the occasional worshiper who bows to him.
And so he did his thing. You've got to see the clip.
Then Simon made a prediction - "I have a horrible feeling that its going to be a hit record"
And now it's a hit around the world.
But you have to give Renald credit for having such a positive attitude. Many good things will happen to this tricycle driver from the Philippines.
P.S.
1. Here's a rendition that I like:
2. An interview by Fox

I did both: I cringed in shame and was also surprised that his voice was ok. I feel bad for him b/c the show is obviously making fun of him. But then again, why did he dress up like that?
