What's the best coffee out there?

This is for all you coffee aficionados out there. There's a new brand of coffee that bested world famous Starbucks, Maxwell and Folgers.

Although I grew up on Blend-45 and Great Taste Coffee, I always preferred "Barako" coffee.  There's a certain romanticism about having barako coffee with friends.  The experience is truly provincial - a big caldero (pot) of boiling water and about half kilo of brown sugar and one kilo of  fresh ground coffee from the hangar market in downtown Baguio and brewed in the Dumawa's kitchen.  Couple that with pandesal and a stick of Dari Creme using the "puligad" system.  Or if we get lucky we buy "virgins" from the bakery across the street (this is a private joke amongst the kamutegs)  .  For me, this is gourmet coffee at its best.

Back to the coffee thing- according to Consumer Reports the best coffee is Eight O'clock Coffee.

Although they are not related, we had a juice drink  named eight o'clock.  Just wanted you to know that.

  1. Eight O clock coffee is cheaper than Starbucks, obviously, but i'm not so sure they can beat the Bux in taste
