Then there were 11 planets

I belong to a generation that knew 9 planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.A few years ago scientists named two more planets in the Solar System - Ceres and Eris. As it was I had a hard time memorizing them and dreaded the thought of mixing up the planetary system when the teacher announced a pop quiz.

Recently, a smart 11-year old student came out with a novel way to memorize via Mnemonic, the new Solar System. But before we go the winner, let's look at what her classmates came out with :

  • My Very Extraordinary Mother Carrie Just Served Us Nine Pizzas Each.

  • My Very Extraordinary Mother Can Jog Superly Under Nasty Particular Elves.

I was just wondering, what happens now to the soothsayers who depend on planetary placements to tell the future? Does this screw up their forecasts and predictions? Perhaps they found an excuse - "So that's why my predictions were way off, we were missing two planets!"
